The Utah Road Runners (URR)
started in the mid ‘90s as an event-based club, with the Park City
Marathon as the signature event. In 2006 the Half Marathon
was added. The Park City Runners Club is the social component
of URR, with members participating in club runs, clinics and also
helping to put on the races. Additionally, our charity partner
provides an after school program for elementary aged children, with
the Runners Club providing adult mentor assistance in getting the kids
involved in a fun running program. We’d love to have you as a member
and show you the incredible array of both hard and soft-surface
choices. It's the opportunity to make your runs even better through
the camaraderie of a running club. Weekly training runs on both road
and trail are generally available.
Club shirts are ready--they are nice! Long sleeve technical black
fabric in men's and women's styling. Contact us to get yours! This item is part of your
membership.
NEWS UPDATES: We are excited to be adding another race to the summer line
up! On Sunday, August 22, 2010, the SINNER SIX 10k makes it's
debut! Billed as a rare and somewhat irreverent Sunday race in
Utah, this new event will be fun! Costumes are encouraged, and we
are hoping that folks coming to town for the marathon or half
marathon will stay for this shorter race the next day. PC Runners
Club will be responsible for volunteering to pull this event
together...with the goal to keep it as simple as possible. Red
finisher hats embroidered with the logo have been ordered. Field
will be limited, probably to 250. Start/finish same as
marathon/half marathon, on the Newpark Plaza. Many thanks to
Maxwell's East Coast Eatery at Newpark as the title
sponsor!
Our
kids after school running program is scheduled to start April
1. Based at Parley's Park Elementary School, these 4th and 5th
graders will be polled to find out their interest in starting
a running program, with help from adult mentors in the PCRC.
Lend a hand to this great group of kids as they work toward
the
goal of a
"progressive marathon", adding segments of distance, with the
final mile on race day, August 21. There is an easy and
minimal background check for mentors. Please contact us with your interest.
Thanks to our sponsor:
These
exuberant kids are some of the "Falcon Flyers", local
elementary-school kids who will be working on their Progressive
Marathon when the snow melts in April.
When registering for any of the races
you will have the opportunity to contribute.
Your contribution will enable
us to buy running shoes and clothing for them, and provide a
part-time coach. Watch for them on race day as they complete the
final mile of the marathon with their proud parents cheering them
on!
Kahtoola is offering their amazing microspikes for snow running
at a group rate...please
email with
interest--if 15 people order from the club, these are discounted 20%.

www.kahtoola.com to learn more about this great item.
Beefier than Yak Tracks, they allow for hilly winter running without
sliding! They also have a different design with snowshoes that fit
right over running shoes.
TOSH (The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital) in Prospector is
offering 30% off their Acceleration Program, a coached series of 24
sessions at their facility on Sidewinder. This nationwide program has
helped 85,000 athletes of all abilities improve their speed, power and
endurance. This program incorporates treadmill running, plyometrics,
strength training and "sprintcord" workouts. Normally $420, this 24
session program is available to club members for $300. If there is
interest, we will schedule on Monday, Wednesday or Friday during
business hours (9-6 PM).
The PC Runners Club
is part of the Utah Road Runners Inc, a 501(c)3
non-profit charity.
The mission
of the non-profit Utah Road Runners is to promote social
and competitive running as a healthful activity. This
goal is accomplished through the Park City Runners Club;
through partnership with other organizations dedicated
to the advancement of healthful activities like running;
and with the hosting of competitive races.
